WITHINANUTSHELL – The rainy, rainy, rainy, rainy stretch has lightened-up. Wanakena has experience nearly a week of fantastic sunny weather. Nice breeze here and there, clusters of cedar waxwing flutter about on the boulders and rapids below the carbridge. Speaking of RAPIDS.... holy cow, the Oswegtchie is RIPPING through town; sounds like springtime! It's lovely. All this rain also means WET trails for hikers... just trudge through it - dont WIDEN the path to go around mud puddles, you're only making it worse. The road into Wanakena IS paved.... but NOT "finished". This past Saturday was a pop-up Clifton Fine Economic Development Corporation Cultural Arts Committee Summer Concert.... two bands (Felt Star and Lahnah) descended upon the green all the way from Portland Maine. They played some Indi-rock and some hard hitting rock jamsters. Lahnah and Felt Star joined foreces and even performed an impromptu improv finale. Oh, what else? Wild flowers and mushrooms bountiful after a wet July, berries galore, too. NEW ART SHOW at Otto's Abode and a paper making workshop at ZPARK next week. Sounds like the Stone Manor in Cranberry Lake will be opening up today!! History Center opens August 21st!
