ALRIGHT EVERYBODY! Wanakena is in FULL SUMMER MODE! Busy busy out here! Lots of HOT weather and SUNSHINE! SUMMER TIME IS HERE! Someone butt-dialed 911 and eveyone came out to save the day and when they got ot high rock noone was there. OOPS! This past Saturday night Zpark Wanakena OLD TIME and BLUEGRASS event with NEWTOWN CREEK FROM NYC was a BLAST! GOOD TIMES GREAT OLDIES! We had a FREAKY weather event this past week. Images further below - we lucked out.... but things were looking spicy for a minute there! Cellphones on "SILENT" made a CRAZY noise to alert. AND it was the day before the 31st anniversary of the infamous MICROBURST! DeKalb was hit the hardest. Cranberry Lakers reported SOME hail. LOTS OF LIGHTNING! YIKES! The storm blew LOTS of smoke down from Canada. SMOKE CITY! LIVE SMOKE CAM! In other news: Bio Station Students led folks around town Wednesday on a 45 min walkabout discussing ethnobotany! Blackberry, strawberry, yellow birch, wild rose, service berry, burdock, plantain, white pine, heal all, sorrel, beak hazelnut, st john's wort, bracken fern, yarrow, walnut, hemlock AND MORE! All in town, all helpful plants. VERY COOL! LOTS OF NEAT TIDBITS! Thanks, folks! Balloons flying over Wanakena today indicate possible location of a cell tower in Wanakena. Images below. Thoughts? THIS SATURDAY IS THE NEXT CONCERT! SATURDAY NITE! 7PM! BOYDEN BROOKS BAND! NORTH COUNTRY FOLK ROCK AMERICANA GOOD TIMES! We've got out eye on the weather... as of now it's looking stormy! BUT FEAR NOT! We had a summer where there was a thunderstorm predicted for EVERY SINGLE CONCERT... and it all worked out! So, stay tuned. And stay hopeful! RAIN OR SHINE!
