Happy Friday!

Did you know we are rapidly approaching the FIFTH anniversary of the debut of WANAKENA WEEKLY?!?!?! That's right folks... FIVE YEARS! Thanks for sticking around! Thanks for the words of encouragement! Thanks for not rolling your eyes TOOOO far back into your head or signing TOOOOO loudly when we skip a week! Thanks for supporting Otto's Abode and keeping year-round inconvenience ALIVE in WANAKENA! LET'S GO! Greetings from down at Otto's Abode in Wanakena where the snow keeps falling! Temps have been low, will reach its highest in weeks (34 degrees on Saturday) and then deliver MORE snow Saturday (a couple inches) and plumet back down below zero Sunday night! WHITEOUT WEEKEND is COMING! FOUR WEEKS! Lets hope this WINTER WEATHER sticks around! Getting lots of calls concerning the ICE THICKNESS! We tell people that down the river/flow that on New Years Day there was SEVEN inches! And that was weeks ago, and it hasn't gotten above freezing since! ALSO! That means there shouldnt be and DREADFUL SLUSH under the fluff! The trail to HIGH ROCK is still too wet to pass! Neil and Holly said they are going to snowshoe up and look for an alternative route! Trail to Dead Creek Flow in GREAT SHAPE for skiing. Ranger School Roads too. Snowmobile trails to Wanakena are ALL OPEN! It's been COLD and snows just about every day! WINTER AT IT'S FINEST! This past Jan 13th was eleven years since the bridge took out by the ice jam.
