This past weekend began with a nice FROSTY FRIDAY MORNING! Lightning and thunder and some heavy rain Monday overnight. Wednesday, too! Mama duck down the Moore Trail sitting on TEN EGGS! The next day it was down to SIX. Then FIVE. QUACK QUACK! No signs of hummingbirds, yet. Trout Lily OPEN! Trillium OPEN! Buds are BUDDING! BLOSSOMS AWESOME! Oh yea... AND THE BLACK FLIES ARE OUT! GOOD! GREAT! GRAND! BITE ME! Pike Season OPEN! Potsdam College group out on the trails. Ranger School class of 2024 counting down the days. Ranger School Renovation Contrustion Project is DONE and it is reported to be a SUPER SUCCESS! After they graduate Forest Rangers to-be move in! Keep an eye out for them jogging around town in formation. Leave 'em alone, though - they focused and busy! Public Restroom in Wanakena OPEN. A LA 'BODE - This past Sunday was Live Music: LILY DOMES! SPECIAL PERFORMANCE! Lily Domes whose voice and guitarwork you WILL HAVE recognized from previous OPEN AIR OPEN MIC nights was out there Sunday April 28th at 7pm! $10 cover! RAIN OR SHINE! Campfire & Popcorn! It rained all afternoon... and pretty much just let-up just as the show started. It was a robust crowd of Ranger School Students, locals, friends and neighbors. Ms. Domes rocked the house and was joined on stage by sister and fellow classmate. IT WAS REALLY AWESOME! THANKS EVERYBODY FOR A GREAT SPECIAL SUNDAY NIGHT IN WANAKENA.
