Rise and shine Clifton-Fine and BEYOND! It's STILL SUMMER! And the leaves are changing and the hummingbirds are still buzzing about! The dry summer is most likley putting stress on plants of all shapes and sizes... so we'll see what the color-changing of the leaves turns out to be. BEAUTY ALL AROUND! Cool breeze blowing through the trees. Confirmed Rose-Breasted Grosbeak Squeak! Mountain ash abloom. Let the good times roll! Wanakena is looking more beautiful than ever, History Center is still open on the weekends, and Otto's Abode is STOCKED-UP so STOP IN! Labor Day Weekend last weekend brought us the THIRD ANNUAL WANAKENA QUILT FEST as well as the fifth and final concert of the 2025 Clifton-Fine Summer Series! A LOW DIP in temps and WIND and RAIN did NOT deter Quilt-Heads to descend upon the village for the ROBUST Quilt Fest put on by heaping handfuls of local volunteers led by the Common Thread/Bird Haven Quilt Guilds in collaboration with some other local organizations! GREAT JOB EVERYBODY! Saturday night brought SOULSHOT REGGAE MUSIC to ZPARK for a BUMPIN' FUN TIME HAD BY ALL! Fan-freaking-tastic. Firetowers all over the Adirondacks were LIT UP Saturday night, including the Ranger School Fire Tower... anyone see it? It's since warmed back up int the mid 70s all week and folks are out and about soaking it up! Ranger School class of 2026 are in-town and studying hard! Racoons munching on lawn apples by night, juvenile foxes bound around town. Happy Hikers report GOOD trail conditions while seeking biting-insectless tavels. Out-of-state birders with hubble-telescopic spaceship-like lenses hit the trails. "Where do people ebike around here?" ask the ebike-mounted from-out-of-town visting ebikers. MORE LIVE MUSIC THIS FRIDAY AT 7PM! AnneMarie Rowland of Quilt Fest Fame returns to the stage to deliver FOLK MUSIC FOR EVERYONE 6PM FRIDAY NIGHT! Stay after for a campfire! Saturday in STAR LAKE! Maybe the biggest party of the year... STAR LAKE FIELD DAY! Check is out! Also, Sunday evening in Cranberry Lake is an OPEN HOUSE at the NEWish Harper's Riverside Motel; they'll be watching the Bills game and hosting a bash!
