Happy Autumn! It is truly a WONDERFUL time of year! We're coming out of a LONG stretch of some of the best summertime weather we've had all summer. AND IT'S AUTUMN! Don't get us wrong, summer was GREAT! But we've had about a dozen sunny days high temp days and crispy cool nights. LONG STRETCH! Swimming in the river was back on the menu! It had been taken off the menu (for most) via some cold and rain. Like Canada Geese... some are flying south some are not. Sounds of pickle ball donk through the valley. Leaves are changing BIG TIME! Some folks are complaining about the lack of color. Some folks complain about just about anything, too. I think most would agree: It's beautiful out there, no doubt about it. The Wanakena Footbridge is FRESHLY PAINTED by interested, able and concerned Wanakena resident volunteers! COME CHECK IT OUT! Crossbill still hanging out downtown here by the shop! Numerous reports of MOOSE around the area. BIG ONE! Hikers reporting overall GOOD trail conditions. OF COURSE THERE ARE SOME WET SPOTS! It's the wilderness, folks. Tooley Pond Road is OPEN! Harewood Fire Dept Blood Drive OCT 5th!!!! Town of Fine seeking DOG CONTROL OFFICER get paid $4388 a year! Send an interest letter by Sept 30th! Around town...
